ExCel Arena, London Shoot- January 2012

We were super excited recently as we embarked on a small shoot at London's ExCel Arena to film some of the action from the joint Boat Show, Outdoor Show and Bike Show.

The two-day shoot proved enough to capture a wealth of content for both our self-produced shows, Wild Spirits and Better Than Four.

Filming of a lot of action took place at the aptly named Action Pool.

There we were able to get coverage of the Stand-Up-Paddle Board races, which included competitors such as Dave Cornthwaite; who paddled the entire length of the Mississippi.

There were also the side events of the Zip-line and Slack Line, which proved to be great fun but the main attraction was back at the Action Pool, where the best British wakeboarders such as C.K. Koester, James Young and Dan Nott were putting on some breathtaking shows for the audience.

Our next shoot takes us to Wales, so keep your eyes peeled for the review in the coming weeks. Until then, you can check out some pictures of the guys interviewing the lovely Sarah Kingdom, below.

2011 In Review

It’s been a busy year here at Boulder Creek.

We kicked off the year undertaking international television distribution for the World Match Racing Tour for the second year in a row. Our travels this year took us to MIPTV, Discop Budapest, MIPCOM, SPORTEL and the Monsoon Cup in Malaysia, as well as various other destinations around the globe.

We launched our brand new cycling series, entitled 'BETTER THAN FOUR', which can be found HERE.

We welcomed our latest addition to the BCI team, Sally Guelfi. We closed a whole bunch of deals, and have lots more on the horizon.

We would like to thank everyone along the way who has made the year of 2011 a very significant one, and here’s to 2012. We look forward to working with you all again.

CNN rewards journalist for work on 'Aero-Toxic Syndrome'

Boulder Creek are very pleased to announce that CNN journalist Ayesha Durgahee has been named Business Travel News Journalist of the Year for her report on Aero-Toxic Syndrome- an condition that is addressed in the award-winning documentary: 'Welcome Aboard Toxic Airlines'.

"CNN International correspondent Ayesha Durgahee was honoured last night when she was awarded Business Travel News Journalist of the Year at the 2010 Business Travel Journalism Awards.

At a ceremony at The May Fair Hotel last night, Ayesha won for her CNN report on the quality of cabin air on flights.

On Ayesha's winning entry, the judging panel, chaired by Dominic Ponsford, editor of the Press Gazette, said: "The panel was extremely impressed with Ayesha's piece on 'Aero-toxic Syndrome' highlighting how air supplies onboard aircraft can become toxic and cause crew, pilots and passengers to become very ill. The piece gripped the judges who described it as "an international scoop... a very strong story, and one that could and should be picked up by the wider media."

The judges also praised her use of graphics, copy, in-depth interviews with scientists and grounded pilots, plus pieces to camera throughout the piece.

Deborah Rayner, managing editor CNN Europe & Africa said: "Congratulations to Ayesha from all of us at CNN. Aviation and travel issues have played such a huge part in our coverage in the past 12 months, so to be recognised in this way is fantastic. Ayesha is an exciting new talent, who has a very bright future ahead of her."

The awards, now in their seventh year, seek to recognise and reward the verybest in business travel journalism. Organised and promoted by CarlsonWagonlit Travel, the 2010 awards emphasise the achievement of individualjournalists.

The judging panel members included journalists as well as business travel managers and industry experts."

New Praise for Boulder Creek!

We here at Boulder Creek are proud to have been praised in the latest report from the World Match Racing Tour team! The report highlights the work we did on the 2009 Monsoon Cup.

The Monsoon Cup event is traditionally the finale to a furious year of sailing, and so BCI are very happy to announce a television output to 183 countries, with a potential of 1.63 billion households! We also generated a record GMV (Gross Media Value) with the television output, pushing the figures to around 82.5 million dollars!

Boulder Creek International Win World Match Racing Tour Contract

Redhanded TV and Boulder Creek International win WMRT contract

Redhanded TV, a specialist producer of outside broadcasts for sporting events, and Boulder Creek International, the TV and film distributor have announced today that they will be producing and distributing the television coverage for this year’s World Match Racing Tour, the world’s leading professional sailing series.

The World Match Racing Tour (WMRT) features 10 World Championship events across the globe this year. With the first event scheduled between 6-11 April in Marseille, the Tour culminates with The Monsoon Cup in Malaysia at the end of November. Redhanded TV and Boulder Creek teams have been working together on the Monsoon Cup for five years and will bring this expertise to the WMRT in 2010.

With a production team of 27 at Redhanded and a further five working on the live streaming and distribution at Boulder Creek, the teams are committed to providing a television sailing experience that works well for the viewer. Using helmet, mast and bow cameras to give perspective in close contact experience, the viewer is propelled into the action to see each vital move. One of the objectives for Sam Usher, MD at Redhanded TV, is to build on the success of the Monsoon Cup coverage and to bring the viewer into the race so that they can feel what the players and sailors are experiencing minute-by-minute.

World Match Racing Tour
The World Match Racing Tour (WMRT) is the leading professional sailing series featuring 10 World Championship events across the globe, sanctioned by the International Sailing Federation (ISAF) with “Special Event” status.

The World Tour awards over US$1.5million in prize money with points awarded at each event culminating in the crowning of the “ISAF Match Racing World Champion”.
